Frequently asked questions
Why choose speech therapy at Greenhouse?
We are neurodiversity-affirming...really. We see your child's strengths instead of focusing on their deficits. We believe that communication = connection, not something achieved with external rewards. We don't see autism or adhd as something to be "fixed," but valued and supported.
Additionally, we are highly skilled and dedicated to our own professional growth and reflection. We place a strong priority on professional growth, and our pediatric therapists have the opportunity to develop their unique strengths and interests through ongoing professional development. We'll match your child to the therapist who is the best fit for their unique personality and communication profile.
Finally, we value clarity and connection, and will communicate with you about your child's speech and language development, strengths, and therapy goals each step of the way. We provide up-front information about expected costs and insurance billing, and we use research-based strategies to help your child move toward meeting their goals as quickly as possible.
What ages do you work with?
Our speech therapists work with children from birth to age 18. At this time, we do not provide speech therapy for adults: we have chosen to specialize in our unique areas of interests and expertise within pediatric speech therapy. The feeding team works with children aged 0-5, and we offer feeding therapy for older children through a skilled speech-language pathologist. The mental health counselors at Greenhouse share our space as a home base for their own practices, and collectively there are therapists who work with individuals of all ages.
How do I schedule an appointment?
For pediatric therapies, appointments can be scheduled via phone, email, or through our website's contact form. If you're looking for mental health counseling, there is a contact link on each individual provider's bio page a If you're not sure which therapist would be the best fit, please scroll to the contact form at the bottom of this page and we will help you make a connection!
Do you take insurance?
Our speech and feeding therapists are in-network providers for Regence, Premera, Kaiser, First Choice Health, Tricare, Lifewise, Cigna, and Molina. Contact us to check the details for your specific plan.
Each mental health counselor at Greenhouse has their own approach to insurance and may or may not be contracted with any specific carrier. Please reach out for more information.
What if the provider I want to see isn't in-network with my health insurance plan?
We offer cash pay rates for speech and feeding therapy and will work with you to make therapy affordable. Please contact us for more details. If our mental health counselors are not in-network with your plan, cash pay rates are available. Depending on the counselor, they may be able to assist you with seeking insurance reimbursement.
Why speech therapy and mental health counseling all in the same space?
We believe that the true purpose of speech therapy is to develop the communication skills that will allow children to build strong and healthy relationships, both now and in the future. We are committed not only to developing speech and language skills, but fostering social-emotional growth and building resilience and joy. In empowering children to recognize and process their emotions and experience healthy, meaningful connections, we know that the support of mental health providers can be essential. We are lucky to have three different mental health counselors at Greenhouse who use shared play as a powerful means of supporting children's mental and emotional health.
